Blue Tier Giant Walk
- August 4, 2026
A moderate loop through dense myrtle forest to Australia"s widest living tree, the 60m Giant Tree, and the enormous Cradle…

Halls Falls may not be the tallest waterfall in North East Tasmania, but its peaceful forest setting and series of attractive cascades make it a rewarding destination. This easy walk follows the Groom River through cool forest to several viewing points, natural rock pools and the remains of a historic 19th-century weir.
Suitable for most visitors, including families with young children, Halls Falls is one of the region’s most accessible waterfall walks.

The remains of a 19th-century weir add an interesting historical feature to an already picturesque forest walk.

Dogs on a lead are generally permitted, as the walk is not located within a national park. Always check current signs at the trailhead before setting out.
The walk begins from Anchor Road, just off the Tasman Highway at Pyengana. Follow Anchor Road for approximately 1 kilometre to the signed trailhead. The walk is around 22 km, or approximately 25 minutes, from St Helens.
