Lost World Track kunanyi Mt Wellington
- July 26, 2026
If you're looking for one of the most unique bushwalks on kunanyi / Mount Wellington, the Lost World Track is…

The O’Grady’s Falls Loop is a beautiful rainforest walk in Wellington Park on kunanyi / Mount Wellington, combining tranquil forest scenery, historic walking tracks and one of the mountain’s most picturesque waterfalls. Beginning at Fern Tree, the loop follows a network of well-maintained trails through towering eucalypts, lush tree ferns and cool temperate rainforest before reaching the cascading waters of O’Grady’s Falls.
This walk is ideal for visitors wanting to experience the rich natural beauty of Mount Wellington without tackling the summit. Along the way you’ll enjoy peaceful creek crossings, native birdlife and a relaxing forest atmosphere. After periods of rain, the waterfall is particularly impressive as it tumbles over moss-covered rocks into the forest below.
The loop includes a steeper climb on Woods Track before returning via Fern Glade Track, making it slightly more challenging than the shorter return walk to the falls. However, it remains well within the abilities of most walkers with a moderate level of fitness.
